Margarita Velandia

Professor, Department of Agricultural & Resource Economics, UT: Dr. Velandia holds a PhD in Agricultural and Applied Economics from Texas Tech University. Her research and Extension programs focus on production and farm management decision-making processes. She prepares enterprise budgets for various agricultural cropping systems, conducts economic feasibility analysis of sustainable production practices, and develops decision-aid tools to help farmers make informed decisions. She coordinates the Tennessee Farmers Markets Price reports. She is the co-creator of the “Let’s Talk About Labor Podcast,” a podcast that aims to facilitate farmers learning from other farmers about strategies to overcome farm labor challenges.
